Nothing could happen on stage without hours of preparation. Once a week for at least two hours our crew meets in the auditorium to prepare for upcoming events, organize equipment, and teach new members fundamental skills. I have mastered dozens of small skills while teaching new members skills they are sure to use during their time in stage crew.
There are many different performing arts groups who use our large stage for their winter and spring performances, from elementary to high school. Even when preparing for my own orchestra concert, I help get chairs, stands, risers, and instruments where they need to be for the performers to succeed.
There are multiple dance studios who rent out our auditorium for their recitals and performances, including Premiere Dance Studio, which is the studio I dance with. At these performances I ensure that the studios needs are met for their shows to run the way they want them too, while occassionally going back-and-forth to put on a show of my own.
Boyertown hosts a spring musical every year, along with a fall and spring play. At these performances I have gained my love of stage crew in a professional field while making lasting relationships with cast and crew.
